Some Indications that the Exceptional Groups Form aSeriesArjeh

چکیده
This is a written version of the talk delivered on Feb 6, 1996 at the SMC conference , Amsterdam. Last Summer, P. Vogel noted that the dimensions of the exceptional Lie algebras are given by ?2 (+ 5)(? 6) (? 1) for an appropriate value of , as well as other uniform behavior of the exceptional Lie algebras with regard to the parameter. Inspired by this, P. Deligne conjectured that there might be a tensor category explaining the behavior. Ronald de Man and I have provided additional computational evidence for his conjecture. In my talk I will explain the conjecture by elaborating on a tensor category for the general linear group, built up by means of braid-like combinatorial objects.

This study aims at identifying factors influencing the birth of exceptional children in families who have more than one exceptional child. It investigates and compares the biological characteristics of the parents with more than one exceptional child, in two groups: a) parents from the same family background either from mother of father side b) parents from different family background or parent...

Background In order to enhance social adaptability and communication skills of exceptional children, researchers are trying to find a more effective and reliable approach. The present study aimed to compare the effectiveness of Game Therapy and Emotional Intelligence Education on the social compatibility and communicative skills of hyperactive and deaf children. Materials and Methods The popula...
متن کاملStructure and representations of exceptional groups
From Cartan and Killing’s original classification of simple Lie groups in the 1890s, these groups have been understood to be of two rather different types: the infinite families of classical groups (related to classical linear algebra and geometry); and a finite number of exceptional groups, ranging from the 14-dimensional groups of typeG2 to the 248-dimensional groups of typeE8. Often it is po...
متن کاملThe Virasoro Algebra and Some Exceptional Lie and Finite Groups⋆
We describe a number of relationships between properties of the vacuum Verma module of a Virasoro algebra and the automorphism group of certain vertex operator algebras. These groups include the Deligne exceptional series of simple Lie groups and some exceptional finite simple groups including the Monster and Baby Monster.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare coping styles of mothers of exceptional children with each other and with mothers of normal children. Materials & Methods: The study was a Causal-Comparative research. Sample size of 120 mothers in four groups of mental retardation, low vision, hearing impairment and normal children randomly clustered chosen in the city of Karaj. In this study ...
